Q. How did you hear about us and what motivated you to try out our studio?
A. “My friend Colleen invited me to come for a free week trial, my membership at a different gym was up and I was looking for something new!”
Q. What’s you favourite class at Blue Sky and why?
A. “ Tough one… I love metabolic mixer because it nearly kills me in (in a good way! ) but I also love full body resistance because it makes me feel stronger!”
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “I have lost some weight, I have more energy and my knees don’t hurt anymore.”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.“I really like the family feel. I recognize pretty much everyone at the gym and it makes me more accountable when instructors know my name.”
Q. If you could change or add one thing at blue sky what would it be?
A. “A splash pad in the parking lot so I can cool down on my way out!”

Q. How did you hear about us and what motivated you to try out our studio?
A. “I read an article about Blue Sky and Kathryn in “The Lance”. I really wanted to try a new gym that had group fitness classes. After my first week, I was hooked.”
Q. What’s you favourite class at Blue Sky and why?
A. “ There are so many great ones to choose from but I think Extreme Fitness is my favorite…you can go all out for 20 seconds of any exercise (even burpees) and there is so much variety!”
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “I have more energy! Instead of taking a nap after work (where I am even more lethargic), I go to a class and feel rejuvenated after. ”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.“The Community! Small classes allow everyone to know each other’s names, it feels like a family. Kathryn really listens to people and creates classes for everyone.”
Q. If you could change or add one thing at blue sky what would it be?
A. “A hot tub so I can relax after a hard class 🙂 In all honesty Kathryn does so many “extras” at the gym from local healthy food to supporting local charities, fun challenges and various workshops. Blue Sky isn’t just a gym, it is a total lifestyle of support and health.”

Q. How did you hear about us and what motivated you to try out our studio?
A.” I heard about blue sky from my friend Rachelle. She knew what type of workouts I would like and she was right!”
Q. What’s you favourite class at Blue Sky and why?
A. “My favourite class right now at sculpt, but I do also really like the SENIORFIT circuit classes!”
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “I feel my balance has improved. My back has also improved in strength.”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.”Blue sky is one big happy family! Kathryn knows you and listens to you, and provides modified exercises when necessary.”
Q. If you could change or add one thing at blue sky what would it be?
A. “There isn’t anything I would add or change I love things just the way they are! Kathryn tries to accommodate everyone and does a fantastic job!”

A.” I had friends going and one suggested I try a week when she heard I was looking for something new. ”

A. “ Do I have to pick just one? Right now I would have to say InTENsity , it’s a great full body workout and different every time!”
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “What hasn’t? My overall fitness and endurance has changed so much, it has improved my running as well which is a great benefit for me!”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.“The sense of community! Everyone gets to know one another and the trainers get to know everyone as well, they push you and modify to everyone’s needs .”

A. “I’m not sure of anything I would change as it has been a very positive experience for me!”

Q. How did you hear about us and what motivated you to try out our studio?
A.” I read about Blue Sky in the St. Vital Lance Community newspaper just when Kathryn was opening the studio. My first class was during her first week . That class consisted of her parents, her godparents and me!”
Q. What’s you favourite class at Blue Sky and why?
A. “ It’s a tie between SeniorFit Circuit and Yoga Stretch, but those are the only two classes I’ve tried! There are new classes I plan to try like Sculpt, Extreme, and Seniorfit Advanced.”
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “My energy-both physical and mental. Much less arthritis pain and stiffness in knees. Strength, flexibility, toned muscles.”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.“Non-intimidating. Warm, friendly community. New setups every class-never boring. Kathryn is very responsive to clients needs.”
Q. If you could change or add one thing at blue sky what would it be?
A. “A less noisy heater during yoga 😊A summer party in addition to the Christmas party!”

Q. How did you hear about us and what motivated you to try out our studio?
A.” I Read an article in the Lance and then driving by one day decided to stop in. After speaking with Kathryn I told my BFF Karen that starting January 2, 2018 we are going to try this as we both complained about our weight and being out of shape.”
Q. What’s you favourite class at Blue Sky and why?
A.”I really enjoy them all because of the variety, but especially the 20/20 because it really gets the heart rate up. “
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “I Have more energy and I’m eating better. I’m making better food choices.”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.”I like the smaller classes. You get more attention. I don’t feel intimidated and you get to know the other members. We all feel like friends and look forward to seeing each other at class.”
Q. If you could change or add one thing at blue sky what would it be?
A.”I would love another full body stretch class in the morning on Monday or Friday!”

A.” I used to go to the wellness centre and dropped in on Kathryn one day and liked what I saw so I joined.”

A.”SeniorFit Circuit. I like it because no matter where you are in terms of your fitness level it can be tailored to you. “

A. “I swim, bike, golf, and curl so this helps me with cross-training. I feel that I am headed in the right direction to be in the best shape possible.”

A.”Community! We’re like a family and Kathryn really cares about the members. No matter how young, how old, your fitness level, you matter! “

Q. How did you hear about us and what motivated you to try out our studio?
A.” I wanted something close to home and convenient. When I met Kathryn she was so welcoming and signed me up for five classes that very week. She wanted me to try out some different classes and before I left that fourth class I had already signed up for the year! “
Q. What’s you favourite class at Blue Sky and why?
A.”My favourite class…and it’s really hard to choose…is sculpt. I love feeling and being strong. I have arthritis and I’m not in pain after my workout and my joints aren’t swollen. AND…I’m slowly but surely reaching for heavier weights to lift!”
Q. What’s the one thing /s you’ve noticed that have improved in your life since joining?
A. “I really love working out. I’m so happy. For such a long time I struggled with doing anything that wouldn’t exacerbate my arthritis. Being able to work out without hurting myself is amazing!! And flexing in front of the mirror while I’m brushing my teeth never gets old!!!”
Q. In your opinion, what separates us from other fitness facilities you’ve tried?
A.”Every single trainer knows my name and knows me. They are so experienced and make each workout challenging but doable. The trainers do the workouts with us which is so great! I love being able to follow their good form and it motivates me to keep up with their pace.”
Q. If you could change or add one thing at blue sky what would it be?
A.”Nothing…I’ve never been a part of a gym where everyone around you is rooting for you and excited for you to succeed. It’s a really positive environment.”

April 2020 Shining Star 🌟 Rachelle Tessier!
1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
I have been with BlueSky from the very beginning, when the doors opened just over 3 years ago. I met the owner, Kathryn, at the gym I used to attend and she used to manage. It was easy to choose to follow her when she made the decision to open her own fitness studio.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
This is a tough question because I find that every class is really a great workout at BlueSky. What I love is that new workout and exercise formats are always being introduced to keep it interesting and motivating. I think that the new class format of Sculpt / HIIT is amazing and will be a “hit” with the BlueSky family.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Where should I start??? I am so much stronger, I sleep better and my mobility & flexibility have greatly improved. Going to BlueSky is a mood booster for me. I feel so much better after I get that workout in! Lastly, I am able to maintain a healthy weight. (I’m at that age where keeping the weight off can be difficult!)
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The trainers at BlueSky are exceptional. They explain proper form to use to execute exercises and their workouts are always top-notch and motivating. They also offer options for those who are perhaps experiencing pain due to an injury or for those who are looking to elevate their workout. I love the fact that events are organized outside the fitness studio; for example, we have had golf tournaments and a cross country skiing event. The other thing is that everyone knows each other and there is such a wonderful sense of camaraderie. It truly is like a big family unit! That in itself is motivating and keeps members coming back. And, folks, consistency is the KEY to success!
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
There’s really nothing jumping out at me that requires change at BlueSky. However, I would love to see more of my family and friends joining the BlueSky family because I know how awesome it is to workout here and would like to see more people reap the wellbeing and amazing health benefits that I am experiencing.

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
I first heard about Blue Sky studio through a friend who joined Blue Sky for the summer in preparation for her upcoming wedding. At the time, I was going to Shapes but really just paying for a membership and occasionally going on a treadmill once a week. My friend told me about this awesome gym she just joined so I decided to check it out! I haven’t looked back!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I love all the classes at Blue Sky! There is so much variety and I love that all I have to do is show up and be ready for a challenging but rewarding experience! I do love Fat Blast and Circuit because once you complete the station, you never have to do that exercise again! I’m starting to really enjoy SHRED and Metabolic Mixer-time flies when I am doing these workouts!
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I am much stronger and I have more energy. I hold a lot of tension in my body and I have a stressful and sometimes emotionally challenging job. Working out helps release a lot of this stress and tension from my body.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
I love the feeling I get when I come to the gym. Everyone knows your name and the trainers are very experienced super welcoming and genuine. They care about all of us and just want us to make the effort to live a healthy but balanced life! I also love how Blue Sky supports local businesses and charities and uses our community to spread very important messages. Blue Sky is a cozy gym and we are one big family!
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Absolutely nothing!!! I love everything about this gym. Kathryn does an amazing job creating a space where we feel challenged and supported.

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
My workout buddy Rachel suggested that I join with her, in order to get stronger, focus on being healthier and help keep the weight off.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
My favorite class is the class where I get food or wine at the end of the workout. Kidding aside, I’d say it’s mostly likely Fat Blast.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I feel more energized and motivated in general, stronger as well!
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
I prefer a group fitness setting overall, and with that, the class sizes are ideal. Having an option to exercise outside in the summer is nice as well. Blue Sky also takes time to help with initiatives in the community, encouraging gym members to get involved. Jayson and Kathryn do also like to party, so I also look forward to the different get-togethers that they organize.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would say heavier weights … Kidding again! I can’t think of any one thing, I’m very happy with all aspects of the gym.

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO? *
I first read about Blue Sky in the Lance in January of 2017. I was looking for a new gym and decided to give it a try. I had seen Kathryn at our kids school and wanted to support a local business.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY? *
My favourite class is Trainer’s Choice with Amber. I love EMOMs and the variety the class provides. Yoga stretch with Lisa is sublime and makes me feel good all over. If I’m looking for a good sweat, I’m heading to a Tabata or a Metabolic Mixer class.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING? *
My overall stamina and athletic endurance are better than they have ever been. I have lots of energy and I’m so proud of the example I am setting for our daughters.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED? *
At Blue Sky I feel like family! I know almost everyone and they know me. Kathryn provides a caring and welcoming atmosphere that encourages me to do my best. The training staff are top notch and make sure that we are all safe while working out. They are all very professional and know how to modify every exercise, which means that everyone can take part in class. I love spending time with my Blue Sky friends and really feel like I am part of a community that celebrates each other successes!
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE? *
I’d love to see the studio be a bit bigger so that even more people could enjoy the Blue Sky experience.
August 2020 Shining Star 🌟 Rosa Bajan!
1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
I used to drive past Blue Sky on my daily commute to work so I knew I wanted to check it out when I was looking for a new gym that is close to home when my former gym closed last summer. I started with a trial week and also checked out a number of other gyms in the area. I chose to join Blue Sky because I liked the variety of classes, the knowledgeable instructors who corrected form/technique and the friendly atmosphere. It was the best decision I ever made!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I can’t pick just one class as my favorite because I love all the workouts I do! Each class offers something different that makes me want to do that workout. Since the studio opened up again, I start my week with Amber’s Trainer’s Choice that always includes EMOMs (every minute on the minute) which challenges me to push myself to get a rest as my “reward”. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I love doing EMOMs! Fat Blast followed by Yoga Stretch is a fantastic back-to-back combo as the first one is physically demanding then my body is warmed up to get the most out of the yoga class to increase my flexibility and mobility. Guts, Buns and Guns is definitely developing my triceps which is my weakest muscle group. Tabata 20 and/or Cardio, Weights and Core rounds out my week with fun, sweaty workouts. I feel so good after each and every workout.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
The most obvious difference is that I’ve lost fat and gained muscle. I am leaner, stronger and my cardio/endurance has greatly improved. I find that I recover much faster and am able to do more activity. This is probably the strongest and fittest I have been my whole life!
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
I think there are two things that make Blue Sky unique. First is the fun, welcoming, inclusive and supportive atmosphere in the studio. From the owner, Kathryn, to all the instructors, to the other gym members – they make it a place where you want to go. The second is the fitness challenges that Kathryn offers a few times a year. Her challenges also teach how to make better food choices and small lifestyle changes that have a big impact on overall health. The 6-week fitness challenge I did in September 2019 was definitely a game changer for me and set me on a path that has me eating better and actually enjoying physical exercise to the point that I look forward to my workouts and will even do the on-demand videos at home if I can’t get to the studio.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I don’t think I would change anything about the studio itself. But maybe the parking lot, shared with other tenants, could get new lines painted.
September 2020 Shining Star 🌟 Jean Cox & Barry MacBride!
1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
We wanted to make intentional exercise more a part of our daily routine. We are both active but we needed to focus on working out to improve our overall fitness level.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
We both really like Guts, Butts and Guns. It is focused, the exercises are mostly strength-based and before you know it you are stretching at the end of the class. And the TUNES! Jayson puts together some great playlists!
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
We are more mindful of taking care of our health, we make sure exercise is a part of every day. Most days that means a visit to Blue Sky, some days its a longer bike ride around the city.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The personal connection with the Instructors and with other members is what separates Blue Sky from other fitness facilities. Kathryn has created an environment where everyone is positive and supportive of one another which helps to make working out a great experience.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
A few months ago we might have said support us working out at home, but Blue Sky On Demand has answered that. We really like having the option to squeeze in a workout at home.

Amber’s trainers choice. Always challenging!
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
My core has improved greatly and the number of push-ups I can do now from my toes has improved.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The family feeling. Being able to get to know the owner and trainers so well and the way the trainers modify exercises for individuals.

I can’t think of anything!

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
I drove by and saw the sign to try for a free week. My previous gym didn’t have hours that worked with my schedule. More options at Blue Sky made me switch.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Fat blast. I really enjoy circuits. I like that Jason corrects us so we can get the maximum benefit out of every exercise and ensure we don’t hurt ourselves.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I look forward to exercising. I now realize it’s a life long commitment. I actually feel like something is missing in my life without an exercise routine. That’s completely new for me. I also realize our children are watching. I now know the importance of teaching your children to lead a healthy, balanced life, so I’m overjoyed when my teenager sets an alarm and happily gets out of bed to come with me to the gym instead of sleeping in on weekends.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The variety of classes. The good natured trainers and clients make it a place you look forward to visiting.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Maybe ask the clients to create a class (inspected and approved by the trainers of course) for everyone to try periodically? That would keep people engaged and feel like they’re a part of the team and it might be fun to see what we come up with!

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
Kathryn’s parents told me about Blue Sky studio. Roy and Michaele inspired me to try it out because of the variety of classes from yoga to circuit training to personal training for all ages. The location for me in South St. Vital is perfect
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
My favourite is the fat blast class. It’s probably the most challenging and I love the circuit training format- Jayson pushes me to improve and corrects my form- lots of attention to details !! Feels so accomplished after each one.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Where do I start? The energy to do more of the every day life things at home has greatly improved. My strength has increased which has improved my posture, so helpful as a dental hygienist in that cramped work position.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The smaller size studio means a more personal experience. ( they know you by name) The coaches keep an eye on you during the exercises so that you do them safely. Those personal connections with the coaches definitely motivate me to keep on going, to keep challenging myself and getting “better every day” as their motto says!
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
That’s a tough one…..maybe more yoga or roll and rejuvenate classes??

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
We have been members since it opening day and we were motivated to try it out by our sister/sister in law as she thought it would be a great fitness studio for us! 😉 We don’t live in St. Vital but found it to be worth the drive!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Can’t pick just one! Love Tabata, Cardio Weights and Core, EMOM’s and the new Ultimate 500 is becoming a new favorite.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Stamina, muscle strength and weight loss have all occurred which helps enjoy longer walks and bike rides!

I drove by the studio every day on my way to work and thought about joining, but it was other members who convinced me how great it is!

So tough to choose! Tabata is probably my favorite; it flies by. I also love SHRED because it’s like four classes in one. It’s always really challenging.

When I exercise regularly, I have a lot more energy.

The trainers know everyone and always offer options. Classes can be adapted to fitness level, and also if you have an injury.
Your On Demand classes are awesome too (especially during the pandemic). I love that I have the choice of LIVE classes, but also the option to do them on my own time if I can’t attend live.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
This isn’t really a change but confirmation of something you do already – Continue to introduce new class types & equipment. Variety is definitely key for me.

I was in search of a fitness program close to home. I saw the Blue Sky sign, and googled. Once I read about Kathryn I booked my first Personal Training. Something that sticks in my mind was reading about her 5 kids!

My absolute favorite is Tabata!

I feel so much better, mentally and physically! I notice that I have so much more stamina working in my large yard at the lake.

We are all family! I have met so many new friends at Blue Sky and appreciate how much Kathryn truly cares about us all.

My daughter was the first to tell me about Blue Sky Fitness as she knows Kathryn. She thought it would be a good fit for me. I was ready for a change from what I had been doing and after a little research I gave it a try in July 2018.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
My goal at Blue Sky, which works for me and my body, is to attend two classes per week for those of us in the active aging category! My favourite is cardio, weights and core. It’s a well rounded, full body workout, with a great playlist and the time simply flies by. I feel ready to take on the day afterwards.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Definitely strength. It just simply feels good to be stronger in everything you do and so important for health and longevity.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
I like the fact Blue Sky Fitness is a small boutique type studio. It’s less intimidating and it’s like family. Everyone gets to know everyone. Kathryn makes all feel so welcome. She has a genuine interest in everyone’s goals and abilities. Kathryn goes above and beyond, planning fun golf tournaments, Christmas parties, backyard get togethers and occasionally supplying a nutritious treat after class, all great incentives!

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO? I have known Kathryn for many years and attended other gyms she ran although I was not a group fitness class attendee. When Kathryn opened her own fitness studio, I wanted to support her and her business. I decided to enter the world of group fitness classes and found it to be a really good workout. I also like to occasionally supplement this with personal training sessions with Kathryn for some extra punishment, I mean exercise.*
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY? Any class that I find challenging. The more challenging, the better! There are always new ones being developed and added to the schedule.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING? Making the trip to the studio and seeing others who are there for the workout always improves my mood.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED? As noted by many people before, the sense of community, comaraderie and support from other members. We also often do special events as a group, such as golf tournaments, cross country skiing and relay races. Tons of fun, and even more bonus exercise!!! *

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
My best friend Claudine Hoskins Hebert convinced me to join her for classes at this new gym that had been open for a few months. I had flashbacks to noon hour step classes at UM in the early 90s and advised her that I was not a group class type person as they were too boring and predictable. The next thing I knew, she drove up to my house and wouldn’t leave until I got in her car, LOL. Midway through that first 45 minute class, I realized this was NOT your run of the mill group class. And here I am, 4 years later 🙂
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I feel like I am choosing a favourite child! I will choose three classes, but I like them all, to be honest. In no particular order:
Metabolic Mixer because the class goes by so quickly.
Guns Butts and Guts as it’s mostly weight/resistance that is so important for someone my age.
Cardio Weights and Core because it’s the perfect balanced class.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Blue Sky has been great for my mental health. I have a high-stress job and the busy fast-paced classes at Blue Sky let me forget about the deadlines and the frustrations for at least 45 minutes. I’ve also been fortunate to meet great people from the studio. Side benefit is that I feel physically strong and more confident wearing sleeveless shirts and skinny jeans!
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The variety and energy that every single Blue Sky class offers and the support of the studio members is second to none! The smaller classes let you get to know everybody. Also, the online classes (Facebook Live and Zoom) have been my lifeline in 2021. I’ve tried other online fitness classes during this time and it’s not even close to what Blue Sky offers. I can do a “live” class or I can do one from the archives at another time. I honestly don’t know where I would be, mentally or physically, without the online classes.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Burn the skipping ropes! Just kidding, the ropeless skipping ropes have made skipping do-able. Maybe add a Pilates-type class that uses resistance bands or body weight (not the fancy equipment).

I heard about Blue Sky about 3 years ago from a colleague who is a member of the studio. She suggested I try out the first weekand consider joining as it was not your typical large, anonymous type of studio. A smaller, more personal type of studio was just what I was looking for.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
That’s a tough one! I would say that it’s a tie between Senior Fit – Cardio, Weights & Core and Guns Butt and Guts. Both give me a great workout and the energy and attitude of Kathryn and Jason is infectious!
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I’ve noticed that regular activity has become a priority in my daily life. I’ve also become more aware of what I eat and how staying active has positively affected my outlook on life!
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
It’s definitely the personal engagement of Kathryn and her team with each and every member. They get to know you as a person, not as a customer and try and find ways to engage and motivate you to be the best version of yourself. The online option has been a lifeline during the pandemic shutdown, but is also so convenient whenever I want to squeeze in a workout at home at my own convenience.

I’ve been at BlueSky since day one – snow storm and all! Previously, I attended the studio Kathryn operated before owning BlueSky. Once I heard that BlueSky was near my home, I thought I would give it a try. Five years later, I’m still here!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I like Cardio-Core because it gives me a chance to focus on my abs, back, and butt: those weak spots for those of us with lower back issues. At the same time, it still gives me a healthy cardio workout. It’s also a great workout in between weight training focused classes.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Since I joined, I’ve been able to maintain my health. However, with COVID restrictions I found

I moved less and started some bad eating habits. After completing a challenge, I changed these bad habits. I’ve lost weight, gained strength, and best of all, feel better about myself. My injuries are settling and I’m able to do the exercises I used to like mountain climbers, plank, and push ups from my toes! Did you notice I didn’t say burpees??
The size of the studio and the personal attention is hard to beat. Each time I attend, it is like a social event before and after class!

Once we get out of this latest covid wave, I would love to have more in person classes so I can see people again!

I had driven past the studio and was pleased to see a new gym that was in the neighborhood. I learned from my daughter Jan that Kathryn was the owner. Eager to support a small business owner I took advantage of your introductory offer and the rest is history.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Honestly, whatever class I am taking is my favorite. I appreciate the variety of classes available and the quality of teaching from all of the team.

In addition to improvement in strength and stamina and challenging myself, there is a general feeling of well being gained from attending classes on a regular basis.

Blue Sky offers an environment with comfortable class sizes, well planned schedule in a friendly atmosphere. The outreach directed by Kathryn and Blue Sky is noteworthy and appreciated by the community ie: Joy Smith Foundation and Oak Table.

I first read about the studio in The Lance. I remember thinking this could be a fit for me and everything about it spoke confidently.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
It really depends on what other exercise I am doing. If I play a lot of hockey in a week, I will stick to Upper Body Blast and Guts, Buts and Guns. Otherwise I like to mix in Tabata, 90/60/30, Fat Blast, SHRED. That stuff will keep you humble.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
My energy and strength is way, way up. I don’t feel nearly as fatigued as I once did. My mental health has also somewhat improved. I feel better, I look better. Many people have commented so. Makes you feel good. Never going back.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
Here there is community. The team and the other members genuinely care about who you are.

BANDS! The leg hair removing, muscle pinching bands. Honestly they are not that bad, just not my favorite. Anything that illustrates how uncoordinated I am, which is pretty much everything. I can’t jump rope either, but let’s keep that between us. 🙂

My comment to health and being strong I know physically as we age that muscle will carry me and I haven’t felt this good physically in years!

The family hands down every one I have met over the years are truly great people a few have come and gone and can say everyone has been awesome. Come on what gym throws an annual Christmas party?! After overcoming a health challenge I knew it was time to make some changes. I had worked out before but often ended up with sore joints causing me to give up. I decided it was time to ask for help. I wanted to train with someone who was knowledgable about how to work out in a way that promotes strength and growth. I did a google search, came across Blue Sky Fitness and I made an appointment with Kathryn. Right away I knew this was the right place for me and my journey began.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I meet with Kathryn for personal training sessions. She is always supportive and compassionate, while pushing me past my perceived limits. What started out as a short term plan has evolved into long term. Kathryn understands how to tailor a routine to fit my physical and emotional needs. I am surprised by how far I have come and strong I am becoming.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
One of the things that has improved since joining Blue Sky Fitness is the realization that I can do so much more than I thought possible. This has had a big impact in how I view myself and is helping to increase my self-confidence.

The people I have met at Blue Sky Fitness genuinely care about you. It is clear that this is not “just a job” for those who work there; it is their passion. They are a team who cares about you.

I cannot think of anything I would change at this time.

I was looking online for a new gym. I wanted somewhere that was smaller and for the more “mature” clientele. The first time I went to Blue Sky I felt very comfortable and knew it would be a good fit for me.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
My favourite class is Tabata. It moves quickly and I can do any exercise for 20 seconds at a time.

My blood pressure has improved and I feel stronger mentally and physically.

After retiring and moving to Winnipeg, I wanted to get into shape and become more active. I googled gyms and Blue Sky had great reviews. Went to check it out and owner Kathryn greeted me and made me feel very welcome. I was provided with some passes for free classes to test their programs. I was very impressed with the various classes offered and time slots. Kathryn provided me on proper techniques and which parts of the body we were working on. The other members were very friendly and made me feel part of the gym family.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I have 2 favourites equally. Circuit provides both cardio and strength. The strength classes focuses on the muscle toning and flexibility which I feel is very important as we age.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
More flexibility and endurance definitely! My energy levels have improved significantly. Before joining Blue Sky, I lacked motivation and had very little energy. Now, I feel I have the energy levels I had about 10 or 15 years ago.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
The personal experience most definitely . The exercise and yoga instructors are very knowledgeable. They assist to ensure proper form technique and provide positive feedback.
Enjoy the change in classes so it doesn’t become monotonous.
You are always greeted by name and make you feel welcome. Size of classes are perfect . Friendliness of everyone makes you feel part of almost a family.

Parking lot could be bigger however thankfully there is sufficient parking on the streets.

A friend asked me to try it out last July. After one visit, I was hooked! The boutique style studio and close proximity to home was and continues to be motivating. I was determined to get serious about improving my overall health and wellbeing.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
At first I would have said Senior Fit Circuit, but now that I have tried Senior Fit Tabata, Senior Fit Strength, Cardio Weights and Core, together with Yoga Strength, they are all my favourite. Each one challenges me in so many ways. The Yoga is divine. The workouts are exhilarating and fun.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Aside losing 30 lbs and gaining improved fitness, I never thought I would ever be able to do a sit up, it’s my health and wellbeing. It is now a welcomed habit to go to “my happy place” 4 mornings a week. I’ve also adopted a plant based lifestyle thanks to joining the challenge last Fall.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
Most definitely the boutique style studio. I was no longer interested in those large gyms. Been there done that. The whole atmosphere at BlueSky is what I believe sets them apart from others. Kathryn has raised the bar (no pun intended) as a Health, Wellness and Fitness professional. Her exemplary team of professionals are amazing. I am so grateful to Kathryn, Rachel, Deb, Lisa and Shell for their expertise and guidance. Last but certainly not least it is my fellow BlueSky members. They truly are the pièce de résistance and my inspiration. We work hard, have fun together and support each in so many ways. Hugs to all.

I wouldn’t change a thing. One might say more space but why? I like it just the way it is.

I had recently moved to St. Vital area and saw that Blue Sky was very close to my new home. I was talking with my brother about joining the gym and he said he knew Kathryn and that I would really enjoy whatever she had to offer in fitness.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Honestly, I love them all. I would say Tabata because the format encourages me to use heavier weights and go harder on the cardio.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I’m definitely stronger and my cardio has really improved. Both these improvements have aided me in being a better dressage rider and a faster dog walker :). Waking up and knowing I’m off to the gym most mornings every week makes me smile. Working out with excellent coaches, rocking music and like-minded gym buddies is good for the brain and the soul.

So many reasons! Blue Sky offer diverse and high quality classes coached by exceptionally kind, humorous and knowledgeable instructors. My classmates are kind, helpful, and supportive – it is an environment of comradery where we all root for each other and laugh our way through the process of exercising our more senior bodies and minds.

I honestly can’t think of anything. I love Blue Sky just the way it is!

Blue Sky is just around my neighborhood. I’ve checked on their website and the Fitness Studio type class appealed to me more so it has an introductory week promo which I gave myself a try. And voila! I am loving it – the atmosphere, the welcoming smile of Kathryn and the people around. I feel so welcome, no judgement, no competition, just encouragement & I’ve met moms & some my age group and “gracefully aging” members – that motivates me that this is FOR ME and I BELONGED!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
All classes are so great that are geared toward what you want to achieve for your body – The relaxing yoga stretch; the strength & muscle-toning effects guts, butts & guns class; the definitely sweaty Shred, EMOM & Fat Blast sessions. These are the most I can say I am a fan of.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
My picture attached was my 45th Birthday. It was the day that I decided to finally gave myself being fit & healthy. I want to age gracefully so to s
peak:). Joining Blue Sky is the best gift I have given myself. Since then, these fitness classes improved my flexibility, balance, cardio & toned my fats into muscles-and I am claiming it! Joining the plant-based program made more fit & healthy that I, my family & friends can really see & feel the difference. The plant-based recipes had been enjoyed by my family as well.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
It is a boutique style fitness studio- small but with a BIG Heart! That alone separates Blue sky from all other fitness facilities. Kathryn, the owner & with her team indeed got the BIG HEART of inspiring, motivating & encouraging us to be fit & healthy and it’s being transcended for every session/class they are devoted & dedicated to.

I heard about Blue Sky Fitness Studio through a girlfriend that was a member.She knew that I was looking for a smaller gym that offered several classes geared for people over 50. Since I had just retired and wanted to stay active, her positive recommendation motivated me to join. The proximity of the gym was a bonus.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I have several but the Senior Fit Circuit class is a great one and the time slots work for me since I’m not an early riser. I also love the Yoga Stretch class and the Senior Fit Cardio Weights and Core. These classes are challenging for me and the instructors are caring and very knowledgeable.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I noticed that I am more alert throughout my day when I exercise and that I feel happier and stronger both mentally and physically. I also have less lower back pain flare-ups when I go on a regular basis.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
This gym is so much more welcoming and personable than others I have gone to in the past.You actually get to know each other’s name (although I’m forgetful) and some have become friends. It’s a fun environment. The instructors are very nice, energetic, and knowledgeable.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I wouldn’t mind seeing a Senior Fit class offered on the week-ends.

It was almost 5 years ago and I often drive down St. Anne’s Rd and kept seeing the sign and the trial offer, so after awhile I decided to check it out. I was in a place where I wasn’t happy with my weight and physical activity.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Hard to pick just one. I enjoy the Senior Fit Circuit but also the Cardio/Weights & Core. I also enjoyed Tabata but have not worked my way back up just yet since having to take time away. The Yoga Stretch is also starting to become one of my faves.
I guess I enjoy the variety.

Where do I begin……
My weight, my strength, my confidence, my eating.

So I have tried a few through the last 30+ years. I like the classes, signing up keeps me accountable. With Blue Sky I feel I have gained a family. Everyone is friendly, non judgemental and supportive of each other.
For a year and a half (possibly more) I was challenged with my own injuries and then became a caregiver and had to put the gym to the side. Kathryn the owner always checked in on me to make sure I was doing ok.
Life can throw us some tough times and just knowing my Blue Sky family was there when I could resume my workouts was very comforting.

Don’t think there is much I would change. Adding a Sunday Senior Fit would be nice (which I believe they have from time to time). Love my Blue Sky Family!

I learned about Blue Sky by searching online for a gym near to my home. After meeting with Kathryn I was convinced that it was the place for me!

Ooh! It is so hard to choose. I like Cardio Weights and Core and Tabata, but also the challenge of completing the Wednesday morning SeniorFit Intervals class.

I do see a difference in my strength and endurance, both in class and at home. I also sleep better at night.

I have been involved with many other gym or exercise programs, but the fabulous instructors and the marvelously enthusiastic members set Blue Sky apart from the rest. When everyone breaks out singing along with the music the class time just flies by.

There’s such a good variety and balance of challenging classes. It’s hard to pick a favourite. Let’s just say there isn’t one I don’t like!!

They say “be careful what you wish for”, but i would say that I would like the workouts to be 1 hour. That way I could get a longer fix of exercise and my friends!

I was walking by and saw the banner advertising $10 for a week and gave it a whirl. I was looking to get back into exercising and this is within walking distance from home so this is perfect for me.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Yin Yoga! I find that it fits in really well with the Circuit and Yoga classes I attend. I have had migraines and tight muscles in my upper body for decades. After attending Yin/Block/Fascia Release for 6 months I noticed significant pliability in my muscles and a decrease in migraines. Yep, the class definitely hurts, but the results are worth it. Plus we laugh a lot too.
3. WHAT’S THE ONE THING/S YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
I have noticed that I’m physically and emotionally stronger. Knowing that I got to this place with assistance and encouragement from the instructors but doing the hard work myself is very empowering.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
It’s a very encouraging, inviting atmosphere. The instructors are always helping members make the most of their experience. The members are extremely encouraging of each other. Kathryn also sponsors out of gym get togethers which are always a lot of fun. I don’t know how many gyms have both instructors and members breaking into spontaneous song on a regular basis!

I was recommended by my hairdresser Whitney. I am getter older and was overweight and wasn’t feeling as good as I knew I could. I wanted to do something to feel healthier and stronger so I signed up for personal training sessions with Kathryn the owner.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I haven’t been to a class yet, but I love working out with my Trainer Kathryn.

I’ve lost over 30 pounds. I eat healthier, I feel stronger, my ankles don’t swell anymore, my balance has improved and my knees feel so much stronger. I can get up and down so much easier now!

I saw an ad for BlueSky Fitness in the newsletter of my apartment complex. It was January and I needed something to help me with the resolution I had made to get fit. What caught my eye was that there were classes specifically designed for Senior Fitness – just what I was looking for! I tried the Intro Week, and I haven’t looked back.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I like the Circuit classes for the variety of workouts and the chance to work at my own level while continually striving to challenge myself. Kathryn and her team are so knowledgeable, enthusiastic, helpful, caring, and encouraging (like when they gently suggest trying heavier weights – lol!) My other favourite class is Yoga which I find relaxing, energizing, and therapeutic. Circuit followed by Yoga makes a perfect morning.
3. TELLS US WHAT YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
My posture! I’ve always struggled with posture issues but now I am feeling and seeing improvement. I still have a long way to go, but the exercises really are making a difference. And I’m appreciating so many other benefits — being more in control of my weight, and enjoying greater strength and flexibility and balance. I also feel proud that I am making fitness part of my lifestyle.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
One unique feature of BlueSky is the class size — small and just right! What really sets it apart for me though is that at BlueSky we have a lot of fun while working hard. And that’s because of everyone there. I can’t say enough about the wonderful instructors and friendly members who together create such a supportive and positive environment.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I wouldn’t change a thing. BlueSky is a boutique gym with a beautiful heart. I feel that we are so lucky to have it in our community!

1.HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
I used to drive by everyday and one day I noticed the sign. I hadn’t noticed it. In January I saw Carmelle make a comment about Blue Sky on Facebook. I messaged her to find out more. She encouraged me to try it out.
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I don’t have a favorite. They are all great. I haven’t tried out a couple of them yet but going to attempt them at some point.
3. TELLS US WHAT YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Well I have lost weight. My endurance has improved as well. And I have a bit of a bounce in my step when I go walking!
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
Because it is smaller facility you really notice the personal relationships among the members. They are all so encouraging and celebrate everyone’s successes. A very friendly and welcoming place from the moment you walk in.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Nothing. It’s great the way it is. As the saying goes….if it’s not broke don’t fix it.

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
I literally googled “female personal trainers” in the south east area of the city, and Kathryn and Blue Sky came highly recommended. Luckily for me, I landed at a gym and with a trainer who is more than what I could have anticipated!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
Amber’s Trainer’s Choice class on Fridays at 6:00 am is my favourite. She totally kicks my butt, but I feel so accomplished when I’m done. There’s enough variety to keep my mind off the exertion and I’m always happy when I can do a bit more than I did at the last class. And my workout is done by 7:00 am.
3. TELLS US WHAT YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
The thought that”I should work out” no longer takes up real estate in my head. I plan my schedule, sign up for classes and then it’s done. All I have to do is show up. While I’ve noticed my clothes starting to fit better, it’s also what I no longer notice: headaches, achy-ness, stress. These things are gone.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
Kathryn – the leader. The warmth and caring she demonstrates for her clients and customers is unmatched, and filters down to the rest of the gym. Everyone follows her lead to welcome new clients to the gym and to make them feel comfortable. That, and she offers deep experience and fitness expertise to clients of a. . .. ahem. . . . certain age. Like me.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I really can’t think of anything! It’s great the way it is.

1. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRY OUT OUR STUDIO?
My friend Carmelle suggested we try the introductory week after speaking with Kathryn’s parents at Norberry Community Centre who highly recommended Blue Sky. My first class was Amber’s Sunday morning Fat Blast, struggled through the class but felt like a million bucks after!
2. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AT BLUE SKY AND WHY?
I really don’t have a favorite class. I love Tabata, weight training and circuit training. I struggle the most with EMOM but feel so strong and accomplished when I finish the class with a little bit of grace and dignity.
3. TELL US WHAT YOU’VE NOTICED THAT HAS IMPROVED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE JOINING?
Mobility, strength, flexibility, mood, and sleeping habits. Going to the gym is therapy for me-something to focus on and look forward to- makes me physically and emotionally stronger. It is a safe space to go and the outside world pauses for 60 minutes.
4. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT SEPARATES US FROM OTHER FITNESS FACILITIES YOU’VE TRIED?
ATMOSPHERE!! Kathryn and the trainers genuinely care for all Blue Sky clients. They are knowledgeable and encouraging.
NON JUDGMENTAL!! All members are friendly and encouraging.
5. IF YOU COULD CHANGE OR ADD ONE THING AT BLUE SKY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would not change a thing. I am proud to be a part of the “Blue Sky Family” and the gym is my happy place!
