Last weekend my fiancé and I headed to the beautiful city of Vancouver Canada. It was so nice to be in the sunshine for the weekend with temperatures well into the teens and flowers in full bloom. Ahhhh….just what the Doctor ordered.
The reason we went to Vancouver was mostly for my fiancé to interview some colleagues for his upcoming website and podcast launch. He was also attending a man talks seminar on the Saturday called “School of Greatness”.
Jayson and I are of the mindset of continual growth and living health, positive, productive lives where we can impact and help other people to reach their goals and become the best possible version of themselves. I can’t tell you after being through a tough divorce how refreshing it is to be with someone so aligned with me in every way. It’s truly a blessing, and I believe one that is appreciated that much more having been on the opposite end where I was completely unaligned in my past relationship.
The beautiful part of this past weekend was sharing it with Jayson’s mom Susan and her partner Albert. We flew out to Vancouver with his mom and Albert met us at the airport as he lives in a condo right on English Bay and was kind enough to let us stay with him for the weekend.
Albert blows me away. Talk about someone who has achieved so very much in his lifetime through focus, hard work and determination. He is a very upbeat, positive man and you can’t help to be drawn to him with his strong Dutch accent and big smile.
Albert came to Canada in the 1960’s with a dream and $6,000 in his pocket. What he toured us through over the weekend blew my mind. This man built his first greenhouse in Pit Meadows BC and now has another few in Landner BC with a multi-level operation of cucumber and pepper distribution.
He is now retired and his sons have taken over running the business…. an incredible legacy.
This truly shows what one can do with a dream and a positive, focused outlook.
Makes me excited for what the future could hold.
Go ahead….. DREAM BIG!
