The true Fountain of Youth comes from living a disciplined lifestyle of feeding your body from the inside out , exercising your heart and muscles regularly and getting enough quality sleep each night.
I remember years ago when I first got into running in my early 20’s I met a man who was in his late fifties and his skin and youthful appearance from his extremely active life of marathon training made him look easily a decade younger! I found this so amazing.
It’s funny, I get asked all the time what products I use on my face as I have been told I have beautiful glowing skin! I use vitamin E cream, period. My skin is the way it is from what I nourish my body with…unprocessed, nutrient dense fruits and vegetables and plant based proteins for the most part. I drink a lot of water (well not always…after an almost 10 lbs baby my bladder doesn’t hold much and I am constantly running to the bathroom!), I love my sleep and really try and make an effort to get to sleep by 10:30 p.m .and up by 7:30 a.m. giving myself a good 9 hours of rest. It doesn’t always work out perfectly but I really try for at least 7-8 hours.
The truth is none of us can stop the clock. We are all aging, with every minute of every day. What we can do however is make great choices to lessen the impact on our bodies, our faces, and our minds!
To truly live a balanced healthy life I believe
- you must maintain a positive outlook
- build a strong body and mind
- get adequate sleep
- keep your self hydrated
- all the while ensuring you are eating as clean as possible!
